The Unstable Hex of the Demon Lord

This is a small, experimental game about swapping out sides of the game while you play!

Instructions

The Demon Lord has trapped you in his pocket dimension! He is spawning minions to defeat you! You must escape! But there is a problem: It seems that his magic is unstable, causing you to swap minds with him periodically! You must succeed, whichever mind you are in!

Your goal as the heroic witch is to escape this pocket dimension before the demon lord gets you! For that you need to defeat enemies, and break into the chamber holding the key, then go to the portal!

When you are controlling the hero, you can move around using WASD or the arrow keys. You can shoot towards your mouse by clicking.

Your main weapon, Fast Shot can be fired using the left mouse button, and is a quick spell, that keeps firing if you hold down the button.

Your secondary weapon is a Multishot, it lets you shoot many projectiles at the same time. Fire it using the right mouse button.

As the demon lord, your goal is to defeat the hero by spawning demons. You can click on the monster icon, or press the corresponding key to select the demon to spawn. Then you can click on the map to spawn it. You can not put demons too close to the hero. Hover over enemies to check their properties!

When you are about to swap minds, the screen will flash blue, and a timer will appear, to let you prepare. If you swap into the hero's mind, enemies are cleared around you, and you get one second of invulnerability.

Reminder, you only win, if you fulfill the win condition while controlling the corresponding side! If the Demon Lord is controlling your body and escapes, you lose! Similarly, if you defeat the Demon Lord in your body, you win!
